Junior District Selection Trials

• Entry Deadline: 28 September 2026, by 11:59pm

• Eligibility: Open to registered swimmers with Metro North District affiliated clubs (age 8-10 as of 21 November 2026)

• Entry Fee: $15 per event (plus transaction fee)

Registration:

• Entries accepted only through Swim Central.

• Age will be determined as of 21 November 2026.

• Only swimmers with a genuine intention to compete in the finals on 21 November should register.

Selection Process:

• The 10 fastest swimmers aged 8-11yo as of 21 November 2026 from Metro North District affiliated club will qualify to represent Metro North District at the Victorian Metro Junior District Competition on 21 November at MSAC.

Selection Trials:

• Date: 3 October. Warm up at 12:30pm, racing starting at 1:15pm

• Location: WaterMarc Aquatics Centre

• Suit Requirements: SV swimsuit restrictions apply for 11/U swimmers.

Competition Details:

• Meet will be conducted under Swimming Australia and Swimming Victoria rules.

• Spectator admission is free.

• Warm-up/cool-down lanes will not be available during the meet.

• Meet program will be downloadable from the Metro North website by prior to the meet.

Finals (21 November):

• All districts are required to provide volunteers.

• In addition to the individual stroke events, freestyle and medley relays will be held. Metro North will select swimmers based on performance and availability.

Team Information:

• Qualifiers will receive team information and Metro North gear (T-shirt and swim cap). If you participated in the event in 2025, please re-use Metro North gear.

Withdrawal from Finals:

• Swimmers who qualify and then withdraw or are absent without a valid medical reason risk exclusion from future District Competitions.
